I worked with marten until early this month.I started off with marten as a regional then went local.I would of recommeded anybody to this company up until a recently. This year with them bringing in alot of new management things are changing drastically.Once upon a time marten used to be an awesome company to drive for,it is systematically joining the ranks of companies such as jb hunt/swift.Alot of drivers have left so far thus year, especially after they cut regional pay from 27% of load to 20% of load. And thats only for trips under 100miles,anything higher and they are paying off this new sliding pay scale. The explanation they gave us was local/regional drivers made too much money last year.Towards the end of my tenure I couldnt count how many local runs i was picking up near the ontario,ca terminal and taking to the san bernardino rail to be shipped, with at leave 2000+ miles on them.Point being is the OTR marten drivers may not be feeling it as much as we were, but the company is modeling itself after knight as a short-medium length haul company. Hope that helps and BOL.
