Tom Inman Fleet.

Those freightliners bring back memories of traveling out west on family vacations back in the '70s. Seems like every other tractor was a freightliner!

Ahhhh The Day !!! First truck I owned was a long nosed Pete (Then they were either long nosed or cab over, no models) with a 12v71 in it, 5x4 two stick. Had all the mariene conversions so put about 550 to the wheels
Drilled out nickle in the return line and could throw smoke and flame at 200 yards

And yes, John Christner was a dispatcher for TI. Also for Ken`s Transportation before he started his own deal. He`s a good feller.Tom Inman was a good `ol boy and always had trucks that would pound the ground !
Back when everyone was running 270`s and a few 290`s, his fleet were 335 Cummins. He ran V8 Cat`s through the 70`s.

Thanks to all the posters on this thread for a nice trip down "memory lane"...Little A, Pirkle, Midwest Distribution and all the others in this thread were all healthy viable companies when I started. You made this old fart really realize how much the trucking business has changed, and not necessarily for the better. The equipment is 1000% better, that's true, it's just the "cut-throat" atmosphere I don't care for anymore. I do miss the "old days", but I am also glad I retired as you can't live in the past, but thanks for the memories of all those gone, but not forgotten companies. (did you ever throw an ether "pill" in that little opening on the exhaust of a Mack ?-FLAMES were amazing)

jonekatz1, Coor's was very nessasary for us running the haul road during the pipeline !! All of the construction camps were dry !! (NO booze) So a flat at one of the shops cost a 6 pack. Need a new tire ?, a case. "Want a full servis and 8 new drivers ? 3 cases. Just pull it into the shop and leave the door unlocked

Had 8v92 blowers, all the marine conversions and twin Holtheth Turbos, had to put bulges in the hood for the turbos but boy could it run. Walk up to the truck, open the door, put your hand on the sill, slam the door, re open the door and you were ready to go trucking.

My father used to drive for Little Audrey's in the 1960's. As a child, I was fascinated with their logo and I've attempted to find some truck pictures of that vintage era of Little Audrey's Trucks. I've recreated one tractor and trailer with Rhino3D, but I would like to find other pictures of Little Audrey trucks to re-create.

If you have any Little Audrey pictures, you can send them to me at [email protected]
