The speed of the truck should never be a factor in whether or not to work for a company. Granted....my tractor tops out at 68, but if they cut it back to 55 it wouldn't make a lick of difference to me. I'd just drive a little slower, and still make a very good paycheck.... and be happy to boot! 8)
If you're actually thinking about USX....you need to get a real good understanding of that "hoser" sliding payscale that screws their drivers out of money...and the fact that they still appear to be paying HHG miles, so its a "double-hoser".

70 MPH are lease or owners some drivers with 10+ years and no tickets or accidents get 70 drivers with 15 years and no accidents or tickets sometimes get 75..
But it does not matter about the speed i can get good miles at 55 or 65 the differeance is about 50 miles a day if you do it 100% legal. remember thats an average. The hard part is keeping the door closed and get er done.. depending on the time of year I drive 11 hours each day i take sundays off. get my 34 done and go again.. on slow months i work 9.5 hours a day and never run out of hours.. Heck there are some days in 10 hours your going to be lucky to make 250 miles. aways drive in your own comfort zone.
