Is it time to hop, like the Easter bunny? I'm thinking so.....I'm on day 2 of setting on a load of paper 10 miles from the receiver-- the company wouldn't dream of letting me drop it at a yard--- they might have had trouble getting it "covered" by another driver--- seems that's all they do now-- is "cover" loads--no management of truck production--- this is called "zone dispatch" and I've felt this problem before ---

Name me a good company; while I run this application into the fax machine.
If you have experience which I'm guessing you do why don't you try to get on with a private carrier ? Most of them rarely make you wait . I don't get the job hopping from one common carrier to another .
Location...Location..Location

I live in Mountain Home, Arkansas-

My "private carrier" of choice would be?

Wal-Mart-- whom requires haz-mat endorcement( so, yes If i remain here at Crete/Shaffer and have to get that-- the first thing I'll do is go apply with Wal-Mart and be gone, or I'll go apply at FedX Ground.

Meanwhile--- based on my location-- it's mostly all Common Carrier whom I've remained at each of the last 3 out of 4 for better than 3years each.
The need to "hop" from one common carrier to another wouldn't be needed-- if the carriers didn't always "kick the ol dogs" after a year or so-- they are all almost entirely focused on driver retention up to that 1year mark-- because it's soo hard to keep your drivers for just that long-- I'm certain if I was a newbie(with this company) there's no way I'd be expected to set here and baby-set a dry load for 2 days.
So, their "miscalculation" will be some other carriers/recruiter's good fortune.

So I take it your 48hr+ of babysitting their freight is uncompensated?
compensated--- are you kidding.....no it's not layover-- you're under the load- besides this company doesn't pay layover.
it's just part of the Job.... remember, it's not forced dispatch-- you saw the appointment time-- you didn't have to accept the load( although there were only 2 choices-- neither of which was any good, it was Saturday night didn't want to "set" all day Sunday, and both of these loads were Overloaded. 1300 mile week(6 days) setting 2 of them.
