I drove OTR for JB Hunt last winter, if I were to go back OTR JB Hunt is where I would go.

I drive local and was laid off and I made better money with JB Hunt, but I prefer the local work.

I drove for JB Hunt...

When I was OTR, ummm my dispatcher drove me nutz.

I was happiest when they put me on Wal Mart detail down in Louisiana, talk about EASY!

I got paid OKAY I guess, I don't have many bills, no wife, no girlfriend and no children all at 37 - (How? I date European women, case closed)

In any case, when Wal Mart was finished I had a problem with my truck and had to take it to the local dealer when T/A couldn't fix it. Freightliner was closed, so I picked up a load and tried to make it to our Dallas area terminal before sundown, well that didn't quite work out and I had no running lights on the trailer, got a ticket and then dropped the load. After the load was empty, I motored to Dallas and was berated by my dispatcher for not telling them I was going to Dallas to get the truck fixed, hey a**hole I drive at night I need running lights!

I had enough and told a-hole I was going to switch to inter-modal and be done with OTR.

I was 2nd happiest doing that, off weekends, plenty of freight and miles to be had.

Of course I am in Los Angeles, YMMV

Went to Las Vegas via Wal Mart DC in Logan, UT once a week.

I botched it, but they didn't help either, see my post.

Doubt I'll ever find that again and if I don't, oh well, I'll keep my A a little longer in case I needed in some other career.

So JB Hunt can be okay if it suits your lifestyle.
