Dispatching Jobs ??
What about dispatching? I have read and read, but I haven't heard anything about a trucking company hiring for any dispatching positions. I have been driving trucks for the past 11yrs, but I would like to pursue other interest in the trucking industry. I have a A.A.S degree in Computer Electronics and Network Technology, however, when I inquire about a dispatching position people seems to start turning their heads. I know this industry has politics running through it like a pair of out of control tadems. Behind all the on road chaos, end with crappy dispatching.
This may sound like a resume entry, but it's not. What are your thoughts? Are there any company out there with interest in changing there dispatchers or dispatching tactics? Please feel free to express your thoughts. Thanks.

I see ads every week in our local paper for companies looking for dispatchers. Its usually called something else however. Of course that is in Minneapolis. I would think it would depend on the job market in your area.

I know there are, but I haven't heard any one talking about it. I am in Richmond VA. area, and I haven't seen anything on a dispatching position in the trucking industry here. I would like to know the name myself, so I can start a search on it.

Here's something. You'll have to forgive me, but I'm far too lazy to read through the listings and see what they're like.

That site is pretty awesome. They scrub local newspaper ads and the major online services, so it's all in one place, updated several times daily.

Try applying at supervalu ( www.supervalu.com) over at mechanicsville facility. When I was working there I saw a former driver behind the desk as dispatcher.
