Default Holiday Stationstores Fuel?

Does anyone know who they have under contract for their fuel delivery? I assume they don't have their own transportation department, and if they do I was unable to find any information about it on their website.

Just curious about them since fuel delivery may be what I end up doing if I can't get a new route where I am at now. Never done it before, but the drivers I see at Holiday always seem to be pretty happy. Haven't seen any of them recently though so I haven't had a chance to ask.

They do haul their own fuel. I can't think of the name, but its not Holiday on their doors. I haul fuel in Minneapolis and do some out of their terminal there. If I can remember it I will post.

I am in the Minneapolis area as well. What company are you with? As I said I'm in foodservice right now and am looking at a possible switch in the future. Not necessarily a sure thing, but I like to keep my options open.

I am going to start hauling fuel next week. You can make 48-50k a year and be home every night. It's not that bad.

Hauling fuel is a good line of work to get into. Everyone always needs to put gas in their car or fuel in their truck. You do the loading and unloading so you don't have to deal with shippers, receivers or the wonderful dock workers. Tanker company's are also growing quickly with the addition of the Ethanol fuels and additive's. Ethanol can't be shipped by pipeline so they need more drivers to deliver it to the bulk plants.

People who have never driven a tanker will tell you it's dangerous, talk to people that have done it or that currently drive a tanker. The person signing your bills (the cashier) has a more dangerous job than a tanker driver.

I guess it depends on were you live and how much the owner will pay. That is good money for around here especially driving a truck. I worked for a gas company (shell) 4 years ago part time and the full time guys grossed 1200+ most weeks (paid on %). Unfortunatley they got out of the fuel hauling business and hired it out. This other company pays around .40 a mile. So depends on the mileage you get per week.

In Southern California, the average fuel hauler makes around 23-25 dollars an HOUR. OT after 8, double after 12. I did fuel part time for years when I was working my way up the ladder @Brown. I worked for Maxi Tank Lines, Superior Petroleum and Wright Oil and Thrifty Gas (Santa Fe Springs). I am thinking about working part-time for KAGG (the old Beneto) in Reno. I'm bored and nobody is buying RV's. Start wage is $22.50 an hour...Tops out at $24.50. Fuel is easy once you get to know the terminals (GATX-Valero, Chevron etc and their way of doing things)

Holiday drivers work for Independent Diversified Transportation Inc. Their terminal is in newport. For the MN driver, they are hiring at that terminal. I work for Mielke. Bring home 1000 a week and home every night and off sunday and monday.

Right now there aren't any HOS restrictions on fuel haulers here in MN, and also in SD, ND and IA. We are able to run till we get tired. Haz-Mat people have been hanging out at the terminals, but are just checking the drivers. Making sure they don't look tired, red eyes, on cold meds... that sort of stuff. The restrictions are frozen until Oct 25th.
