What info do you have on those companies?
OK. That's your first mistake. Understand these "placement" people at the schools get a kickback from the company they send you too. Often they limit your potential to a few companies. Start hitting the application websites like here, Bubbajunk.com and layover.com. One application will be sent to dozens of companies.
well our "placement" guy does not get any kickbacks what so ever..it is a service to use form our tuition. I have looked into it extensivly to make sure that he doesn't get any benifit out of sending us to a company...my tuition pays his wage not kickbacks.
OK new guy. You keep thinking that. You could do MUCH better than the choices that have been given to you. You want to take our advice or are you simply looking for validation?

OK look, I'm not trying to get anything started here...I did join here to get info so i don't get screwed over like i have heard a lot of noobs do. I want to drive flatbed. My original choice was TMC but seeing as they won't hire me I've done a bunch of research on Anderson (ats) and from what i have been able to find they seem like a decent company to work for but was hoping to find someone that works or has worked for them.

even tho i like ats i am still open to other suggestions on flatbed companies.

There's not much about ATS out on the boards. That is usually a good thing. The good companies rarely get talked about or bashed. The pay seems OK. It looks like they have alot of options as far as if you want to drive van, flatbed or heavy-haul. Alot of regional positions too. The only thing I noticed on their website is they are pushing the lease pretty hard. Make sure you don't do that.

"I hear..."

"I've heard..."

Those should be keys to what kind of "advice" you're getting here.

PGT has been very good to me.

Bennies are EXCELLENT and my paycheck has varied between $800 and $1500 (gross)

Can't speak for the other two as I've never worked for them...!

Well, I've heard and I hear that CR England SUCKS too. But I've never worked for them either. I don't need to stick my hand in a fire to know it's hot.

Let's see the great things PGT offers.

1. Lease program. Oh boy!
2. 5 day orientation and three weeks OTR for new drivers for a whopping $280 a week! Hell, CRE pays more than that.
3. Per diem. Rip off!
4. Forced dispatch.
5. Drive crappy Internationals.
6. Terrible percentage plan.
Driver Pay Scale
Over-the-Road with Verifiable Flatbed Experience Less than 6 months experience 23.5%
Less than 1 year experience 25.0%
1 – 3 years experience 25.5%
3 – 5 years experience 26.0%
5 – 7 years experience 26.5%
7 – 10 years experience 27.0%
10+ years 28.0%

You can make alot more money for TMC, Maverick or Melton working flatbed.
