Default TMC Drivers I need some information Please!

I am on the LTL side with UPS Freight. I am thinking very serious about TMC.

1. What is a weekly check on percentage pay on the low end

2. Weekly check on the high end on percentage pay?

3. Average weekly check on percentage pay?

4. Home time? What time home on Friday and what time do you leave out? Monday or Sunday night?

5. Percentage pay is the way to go instead of mileage pay corect?

Thank you for your help and support and drive safe!

1. In a given week with no evil things such as breakdowns, thermonuclear war, i.e. 5 loads, you should be looking at $900 gross before taxes.

2. Same scenario, about $1,100 plus.

3. 4. About $1,000.

4. Depends on where you live and the place that you pick up and deliver your freight. It also depends on YOU making deliveries as early as possible, so you can reload as early as possible. Sometimes I get home at 1pm Friday, sometimes I get home at 11 pm Friday. Sometimes I leave on Sunday, sometimes on Monday. Given the fact that I am at the end of the shipping lanes and that I am a trainer I rarely leave on Sundays.

5. Percentage is the way to go. The company is considering an to increase in mileage pay, so I am told.

Peace be with you.

Best thing you can ever do is stay at UPS. You'll regret leaving UPS for years.

I agree, I don't think you can advance much at TMC, just get a little higher % hauling the same loads, maybe a dedicated route if you are in the right place. UPS hays a lot more to offer, it may take a few years more experience, but you can get on local P+D or in one of their little brown box trucks right? and then maybe a feeder truck later on.

Default UPS Freight

I am doing P&D. Some days are easier than others. Some days are impossible because you bust your azz due to a customer that you deliver too that has no dock and no fork lift! You ask your self is it worth getting a hernia? and being out of work? Well, after several pulled muscles and extreme pains in the shoulders daily, that is why I am thinking about it. Don't get me wrong I am not one of the whiney drivers that are always complaining about something. I am not afraid to work and I always go the extra mile. The UPS Freight division is totally different from the UPS package division. We are the lower paid drivers than the package division and we are not Union. I am ranging from $750 -$960 a week dependsif I get any overtime or not? I just need to make more money right now for me and my family. I do appreciate your comments.

Does freight for TMC slow down any paticular time in the year?

Can you volunteer to run over the weekend if you still have hours?

Oh and by the way I am in central North Carolina, near 40 and 85. Freight runs good where I live?

Thanks Guys!

Whoo-Hoo !!!!! 6 MORE DAYS AND I AM DONE !!!!!!! Seriously though, you should wait until a contract has been signed with UPS Freight/Overnite/Motor Cargo BEFORE you bail. P&D is not a whole lot of fun granted, BUT you get PAID for everything you do, unlike most on this board. Sure, you can go be a 'billy big rigger" and give your time away for free, but before you leave, wait until the new contract is negotiated. You may be in for a few pleasant surprises.

I do not mean to steal the thread. But your chances are quite good. Fatboy's in the last stages of the Midwest negotiations. He's going to announce it pretty soon. He wants people to think he's right up there with Christ. It's not bad. Since UPS has agreed to make it "one company-one contract" I think you will be pleased. Just don't bail yet...If Hoffa doesn't pull this one out he's done....(along with Chuck Mack and all his other freight buddies)...

just curious, but do the UPS freight drivers get in on this whole contract deal? how about the owner operators that they are leasing, do they get something out of that deal?
