Default TMC Orientation

Orientation for TMC is getting FULL for this week in Columbia, SC. If possible TMC would like to get a higher percentage of students into Des Moines, IA. Transportation is paid for by TMC so if anyone was thinking about going to SC for orientation and can switch to IA, it would be helpful.
Remember too that the Des Moines, IA location is our home terminal and is a LOT nicer than Columbia, SC.

I agree that the Des Moines facility is better. The hotel is nice and it is located on the TMC property. The South Carolina hotel is about 8 miles away from the Columbia terminal.

In my opinion, the Des Moines training is more intense - especially securement - which is critical to a successful flatbed career.

And there are more TMC drivers who come through the Des Moines terminal. It is a good chance to learn from the drivers as well as the trainers,

Didn't know DSM was a option for those of us in the south. I thought your recruiter told where you were going and you went. I would love to be at either location in a couple of months!

The choice is the recruits.

Laura in the office said you want to go to S.C. and I was like can't I go to to Des Moines instead and she said sure, even though it is like 5 or 6 more hours away from my house. And Fred told me to go there also and from what I have read here that it is the better of the two training faculties. I will be off on Saturday to get there and looking forward to the new way of life over the road. Anyone else have a March 19 start date? Well wish me luck. Does anyone have else have hints about Des Moines?

I'd love to accommodate and will if I have to but the SC terminal is only a 2hr drive as opposed to a 12hr drive up to IA. As I will be severely pressed for time due to familial obligations in between orientation and going out with a trainer the 2hr option is the natural choice for me!

SC is still taking trainees and always WILL. We were just asked to try and get more guys into Des Moines. 2 hours away? Hell I'd go there too!!

Can someone post the street address for the SC terminal? I have nothing to do next weekend so I might take a road trip down there and check it out. Thanks.
