Uh, the post was about each others JOBS...The OP requested information and we gave it to him/her. You say the UPS employees always bring up money. Nope, only when we are asked. Other people here seem to always LOVE to union bash...It works both ways. And yes Brown67, you pretty much figured it out. I did my 12 years in a package car (and the "sort")..Bid feeder, your body will thank you. Nights are cool, hook your set and split, no supervisors breathing down your neck. If someone takes offense to UPS people calling the former Overnite/Motor Cargo fiasco a "red-headed stepchild", well you should have heard what we USED to call you. Personally I think those trucks look a whole lot better painted UPS colors.

Ha! I can see it now... Within the next couple of weeks Lewie will be gone much like Chad, Col Toon, etc... and there will be a new user on CAD. Probably named "2ndNCommand", "DickieC", "TrickyDick" or similar...

I work for myself. There are days when I get really fed up with my boss, and I'm tempted to quit, but he'd be lost without me, and I really need the money!!

   You sound just like my wife.

She owns a company, and gets fed up with herself too. That's when I say
" stay back and put the weapon down, everything will be ok"

I work for Arrow. Live in central Il. Only been here a week. had the truck 4 days and the rearend went out, so here i set in a motel room since thursday. Not a good start to a new company, but we'll see how it pans out in a few weeks or even months. I get a few cents a mile but I love the skates.

I drive for Schneider. No better or worse than any other company. They get me home when I need to, and have run close to home when the time for hometime is coming near. The 2nd shift folks are useless but they dont push drivers to operate in adverse conditions. If there is a bad snowstorm and I dont want to drive in it, I tell 'em and thats it. But whereas folks complain about "not getting the miles" I'm averaging around 2500 miles per week.

I hear alot of independents complain to me about how Schneider undercuts competition, as if I have anything to do with that policy..........as if they are the only company to do it.

Now that you said that I have been paying attention to the HHG carriers. All of the nice big pretty stretched sleeper trucks I see on the road are Allied or United. I have yet to see good looking Graebel truck on the road.
