Anybody have any info on Batesville Casket/Hillenbrand Industries, pay scale, work enviroment, equipment, any info would be helpful. THANKS

 

Don't know too much about them, other than what I've seen in my area.

They pull doubles here, and run Freightliner Columbia's.

 

I've seen their trucks (mostly wobble wagons) on the highways down here in Texas; other than that, I really do not know anything else about them.

I do know that hauling caskets, and for that matter, the funeral business as a whole is, for the most part, a dead industry.
:P

 

I read an article about them a few years ago. Supposedly, it is a high claim job, and a logistics nightmare. The trailers are specially equipped to hold the caskets, and many times they have to dig into the trailer to get a single one out. They do backhauls, and supposedly it is a challenge, because of the logistics equipment in the trailers (it does not break down).
