1) OK, when you say 2863.27 was your average weekly mileage, does this mean paid mileage or miles you actually drove?

I think they pay practical miles? So that's probably pretty close to paid miles.

Unfortunately, it is HHG miles, not Practical or hub. Last time I checked, my actual miles were very close to 10% more than paid miles. I am hoping for the change from HHG to Practical, but not holding my breath. But since I am currently a company driver, Randy pays for the fuel.

Despite my screen name and avitar, I live in Indianapolis (Way to go Colts!!!.) But since there is enough west coast freight to justify a terminal in Ontario, CA, I would assume that living in Phoenix would be just fine.

So you are actually driving over 3100 miles per week? Interesting.

1) Are you the kind of driver that strives/yearns for as many miles as possible or are you trying to get home everyweekend?

I have not been to the Northeast very often (and NEVER to NYC) with Marten. I have been to Mass. twice, and Jersey a few times in the last 9 months. I tend to stay between Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, and Baltimore, for the most part. That keeps me fairly close to home in Indy. Of course, your experience may vary. I would imagine you would stay much farther west than I do. I did get a nice run from Shelbyville, IN to Fry's in Phoenix once. Picked up at Pillsbury in Tempe and went to CA from there, but then came back east. Hope this helps.

I get home about every third week, though I could get home more often if I wanted to. I try to get two solid paychecks before I come home. They have regional out of Indy that I could do. That would get me home every weekend, but the miles would not be as good.

A lot of drivers do better on their miles than I do (at least they SAY they do) but I drive slower than most. I run legal on logs and obey speed limits. If I fudged either, or both, I'm sure I could get more, but the added stress wouldn't be worth it to me anymore.

Thanks for the info. Incidently I meant that I am from Phx. However I now live in Western NC. There is a very good chance we are going to make our way back to the Phx area within the year.
I guess they would not have a problem with a driver starting one place and then moving. Marten looks good from all I have read and researched.

Marten may not be the best, in fact, I know they're not, but for now, they're the best FOR ME. My recruiter was Tim Ridley out of Atlanta. He is a straight up guy, and a former O/O and fleet owner for Marten. Everything he told me was true. Their recruiters don't work on commission, so they will get paid the same whether they hire you or not.

I have a great Fleet Manager, but if I didn't get along with him, I could change to someone else until I got someone who would work out. In a way, I suppose you could say that you could "fire" your Fleet Manager without having to leave the company. That has never been an option for me before.

OK, we know that you will start off at at least .36cpm.

What other accesorial pay, if any?

because 3000X.36= $1080 which is not too hot.
