It's different for each person and lots of variables come into play. While one person enjoys the company................... Yes, thank you TK. Now could we list, in percentages: 1) At what times did you, personally, deliver: a)How much in the middle of the night (12am-7am) b) at normal times (8am to 11pm) c) How much drop and hook? Please list in percentages for your own personal experiences and then, if possible, list percentages for all Marten drivers as a whole. 2) What kind of refers do they have? a) How many whisper quiets in percentages. b) How many loud ones in percentages. 3) Last but definitely not least, how many miles did you get every week?

We have mostly T/K with some Carrier units a)I don't think we have any units left that aren't Whisper or similar. b)some units are louder than others, but less than 5% maybe? 3. My average miles per week over a nine month period have been 2863.27. I go home about every three weeks, even though I could more often. I am home about four days. Sounds like you may be worried about reefer noise keeping you awake. It may be a problem if you an unusually light sleeper, but if you can get used to sleeping with the truck running, you should be able to get used to sleeping with the reefer running without too much trouble. The idea that Marten does not pay for trailer washouts is simply NOT true. It is true that they expect you to sweep a trailer out when you can. That is only good business sense. Your fleet manager is under pressure to keep washout expenses down. If you want to washout every trailer you pick up, you will be told no more often than yes. My fleet manager knows that if I ask for a washout, it really needs it and it's never a problem for me. Some shippers require a washout before you load, and those are never a problem to get. (I do like that leaf blower idea. I'll start looking for a used one.) Marten does not reimburse for scale tickets. They pay you $1.50 for every load you pick up from the shipper, regardless of weight. They also equip all tractors and trailers with air gauges. It takes a little getting used to, but I never have to scale anything less than 42,000 lbs. Some shippers have scales that you can use for free also. I couldn't tell you the last time I paid for a CAT scale. Hope this helps. Just remember one thing about percentages, something like 85-90% of all percentages are made up on the spot. E-mail or PM me if you have any further questions.

After a while of sleeping with the unit on you will jump out of bed if you don't hear it running. I know that when I came home that I had to have a fan on in the room so I could sleep. Otherwise it was too quiet and I couldn't sleep.
