What he said!!
If you do a little research here, its likely that you will consider CFI to be at the top of the list.
I might consider Crete....if I was ever to pull a box again, but truthfully... CFI would have to be our of business first. I've talked to some Crete drivers and some of the changes being made since Mr. Acklie (sp?) is retiring aren't necessarily "good". US Xpress is going to hurt you.... while maybe they aren't too bad of a company with good equipment and all....their payscale was dreamed up by a thief. Simply put: the longer the run, the lower the pay per mile. Personally, I cannot fathom how anyone can think that a driver's skill value declines after x miles. Plus, as I recall, they are still paying HHG short miles. That "sucks" too. Nothing in the world like getting shafted twice at one time.
You live in CFI's hiring area, so it would behoove you to do some research on them. You can also go over to
http://www.cfidrivers.com and join in the discussion or just read the posts. The company does not own or even endorse the site. Its owned by "Croc" of Angel & Croc fame. He is an owner operator with CFI who has been there since 1995. By the way, CFI pays "Practical Miles", as does Crete and a few others. That can make a 15% difference in your pay to the better.
