Default Accepted by Maverick awaiting school date.

I have been accepted by Maverick and am currently awaiting a school date. I have been in contact regularly with my recruiter and have been told that I will have a date in January or February. I am looking forward to getting started with the training but really looking forward to getting a truck and getting on the road. I was told by the recruiter that drivers in the southeast region average between 2300 to 2500 miles per week, and was wondering if any of the current Maverick drivers can confirm this. I would also like any other information on benefits that are available. This site has been very informative and has played a huge role in making Maverick my choice 8)

I'm a flat bedder, and have talked with a few Maverick drivers. From what I heard, they stay very busy. And if you are in the right location, you will get home on a regular basis, weekly or every few days. Location, location, location...

That's good to hear. I am hoping that living in Knoville, about 6 miles north of I-40, and 4 miles east of I-75, that my location will make the weekly hometime a slam dunk :?: . And passing through every couple of days would be nice too, but not a show stopper if it doesn't happen. The worst thing that has happened so far, is the waiting. Other than that My recruiter has been very helpful. In the other threads that I have read on this site, the wait seems to be the norm. I don't mind waiting until after the holidays anyway. Keep the information coming, it helps knowing what's to come.

No..... 11 year ARMY veteran. I do have two relatives that were Marines. I have an uncle that is a retired Master Gunnery Sergeant, and his son who spent 6 years and got out as a Sergeant. I got out in 1993 after Desert Storm, as a Staff Sergeant from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Dope on a rope!

Congrads man. I'm waiting on a trainer too. I too was quoted Jan. or Feb. I already have my CDL but, from my understanding they are running short on Trainers.

I live in Pensacola, Fl. I'll probably go with another outfit until I get the call from them. Hopefully I can impress enough so that I won't have to go through training a second time.

Maybe I'll see you in orientation.. Cheers
