yeah, i read that part. He was also leasing, where CR England pretty much screws you from what i've heard a lot of people say. I plan to stay a company driver, no matter how hard they wanna push that lease program on me.
Also, I don't need to make a whole lot of money right now either. I'm 21, single, no kids. My monthly expenses are significantly under $1000. Sure it would be nice to make a lot of money, but that'll come with time and experience.

Just so you know... I've talked to several CRE drivers all LO. The reason most went that way was because Company driver got the droppings after OO and LO. Meaning they get the loads first, and you get whats left. They also told me company drivers would be sitting for hours waiting to get loaded and if a LO or OP drove in, he got pushed to the front of the line. Really ticked of the company drivers, but thats how they run.
Any how... good luck

Any how... good luck That is exactly what he was telling me.....that he would get the scraps leftover after all the OO's and LO's got loads......he would sit and wait, and wait, and wait..........after 10 months of averaging about 7,000 miles a month, he quit.

![]() No offense, but I've heard nothing but horror stories about that place for years. I have a buddy that pulled for em' awhile back who lived to regret it. He never saw home and his paychecks rarely added up right. He told me they have a special division of drivers whose sole purpose is to pick up abandoned trucks and trailers from around the country.

yes, i hear horror stories too, but i take all those stories with a grain of salt, either you don't get the whole story or something like that. I would have no problem doing a training blog, however, how would i do it? I don't have a laptop.. will i have computer/internet access at the school? If so I will gladly do a blog.
Maybe I am walking straight into hell, but i'd feel that way if i was going to swift as well, there's always horror stories about both, and CRE is just more convenient for me right now. I'll call my recruiter tomorrow and ask about internet access at the school. 8)

Keep a note pad with you, then when you get back home, post your blog maybe? Find an internet Terminal at a Truck Stop?

RaiderNation, you have gone so far as to ask questions and some research. Why now, after everyone says stay away, are you going to CRE? Swift would be the best of the two options. Anyone who's been on this board for a little while can tell you lots of stories that sounded just like yours. In the end most of those very same people came back and said 'you were right and CRE screwed me."
John's blog should be proof of that. He was a L/O who should have been top priority for miles and he was getting shafted too. Good luck and I hope it works out for you. Stay safe. |
