Well, at the end of 8 weeks I will have grossed $5317
divide that by 8... is $664. Times 52 weeks this year... would be $34528 Not exactly GREAT pay in my opinion. But that does include my first week with only the $50 for orientation pay on it. So if we are optimistic (all drivers are, aren't they?) $5317 divided by 7 is $759. And $759 times 52 is $39468. Still not that great. But I did have a talk with my new DM. I told him I have a wife and 3 kids. I will not drive for less than 2500 miles per week. I have been out 5 weeks this time. AND BOY DO I AGREE that that is too long!! Come to find out I only get 3 days hometime. Agreements with ex-dispatchers are now null and void.

You should at least get the 4 days for that month that they also promise..... Although seems to me like Russell seems to like to mess up other peoples promises. My hubby made an arrangement with Johnny himself when he hired on, Russell came back and told my husband that Johnny didn't have the right to make that decision!

Well, it has indeed been an interesting day with TransAm for us. They apparantly "lost" a lumper receipt, and are trying to tell my husband they aren't going to reimburse him for the $80 lumper fee because he didn't send in any of the paperwork.
At the point my husband heard back from payroll saying they weren't going to do anything about it, he called his fleet manager and told her that he was parking the truck when he got to Olathe. She talked him out of making that decision on the road, and promised to work on getting the $80 back, and see what she could do about getting a different truck for him (his is having trouble). She didn't have any good response for the lack of miles, but did as usual seem genuinely concerned. He has a great FM, now if only she were the only one he had to deal with... Final straw on the camels back tonight was when they took a preplan away from him that would have brought him from Olathe to Lawton, OK, 50 miles from us, insuring that he would actually be home Friday. Instead they tried to give him a load going the other direction into Nebraska, and a drop time he couldn't possibly make as its for 7:30 in the morning and his 10 hour break isn't up until 5:30, and its almost 300 miles from Olathe. Last I talked to him before he went to sleep tonight he wasn't quite sure what he was going to do about that, having sent multiple messages on the satellite without any answers.... We will see what tomorrow holds. I'm hoping it holds an acceptance from TMC so that hopefully we can put this crazyness behind us....

That makes it a 3 hour trip to go get him not a 7 hour! She's not very happy with him, but thats understandable. He makes a final load with them from somewhere close to where he is in NE, down to Sherman, TX, then will go into the Rockwall yard and we should be able to pick him up tomorrow!

He is quitting over a lost lumper receipt? With all the money he will lose changing companies $80.00 will look pretty good. He better hope that they do not put a quit under dispatch on his dac or abandonment.
