My husband is on his way out of Brooklyn. He got in alright, got lost though, and apparantly had to pay somebody for directions
Everybody at the receiver apparantly speaks better Chinese than English, and couldn't tell him how to get back to the Interstate. So, I started digging, knowing that using something like mapquest or yahoo maps will not give me truck routes.
Found a jewel in the rough though with the pdf files of the NYC truck routes for 2007! It has local and through truck routes listed. If it helps anybody else out its at http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/home.html and there are links to the upper and lower sections from there. Hopefully we can get him back out of that area now

Sorry for the neglect of this thread again.
My husband is in MA, heading to Nebraska. He is due home again on the 2nd so this promises to either be a very tight trip or include a swap. He has a total of 40 hours to make an almost 2200 mile trip in 5 days. He's been out almost 4 weeks so it will be nice to have him home.
We were really hoping to put him out that long for the nice paychecks, but he hasn't been running quite as much as he had hoped. I don't know for sure what his actual miles will be as we don't have those checks yet, but he feels like he's sitting more than normal the last several weeks. Could just be the length he's been out.
I don't think we'll be purposefully doing another 4 weeker. Neither my husband, or the rest of us are doing near as well with it as we usually do the 2 1/2-3 week stretches. Either that or the "newness" is wearing off.

Good to hear the husband is coming home!
I am at home right now, and will be until Monday (I got in last night).

I can't believe how easy it is to get miles! I have over 3300 for the past week AND did a 34 hour reset on Sunday!

I was thinking about posting in this thread about my experiences with TransAm. I could start another "diary" but let's face it... it's hard to beat the original!

He definitely usually has no problem getting miles. Glad you're at home! Enjoy!

You're welcome to post on this thread as well! Thanks for the compliment ops:

The news today is not so much of my husband. He is stopped tonight in PA, on his way to Omaha, looks like he will keep this load, and should be able to do it, although he will be tight on hours.

I met with a friend of mine in the park for lunch and a Bible study meeting today, and when I came back around the corner to my house my back yard gate (privacy fence) was swinging wide open. I found this very odd as they are padlocked shut.

Sure enough, someone had come in the back gate and broken in the back door. The police say I came home in the middle of them being here *shudders*, as the house gives the appearance that they were not done. My new all in one printer, dig cam, and several other things are gone, including a few of the childrens things

I am grateful and thankful that they ran when I got here. My PC has a 2-3 minute screen saver, and when I originally came inside to check the place out the screen saver was off.......

Those from my church have been awesome in helping out, and I praise God that it wasn't any worse. My husband almost threatened to resign short-term and come home, but I told him I don't see what it will change at this point.

Definitely sorry to hear that. I know what it's like to come home and find you have been robbed......on the bright side, material things can always be replaced....thank god you didn't walk in on whom ever was there and something worse happened.

Thanks for all the support and well wishes! We did alright overnight, and I figure thats a good first step. I'm still finding things that are gone, as I go to reach for them. My husband is reluctant to immediately replace things, in case they are back since I apparantly interuppted them.

Anyhow, moving on. My husband is in Indiana tonight, well on his way to Omaha where he drops. He's not scheduled to drop until early Tuesday morning, but we're hoping they will let him drop sooner than that, as he should be there sometime tomorrow.
All goes well with TransAm, and we hope we can keep from keeping him out this long again, as neither one of us are doing as well as we did with the 3 week time period.
