outside the linehaul zone, how much freight is coming to Florida thru TMC.
A driver is reviewed monthly on several things: Out of Route mileage, TripPak turnaround time (getting your bills sent in in a timely manor), Truck appearance, Damage/Claim free deliveries, Idle time, Completing an online open book test, attending a one time, two day, "TQM" driver class in Des Moines. Doing all these things properly (essentially just doing your job correctly) keeps your percentage up. I'm currently at 29% and have YET to do the online test or attend the TQM class. Percentages vary from 23% to 32%. I don't know ANYONE who's below 26%. Mileage pay I don't worry about because in my case, percent always beats mileage. I BELIEVE new guys start at 32 cpm but I'm not sure. At percent, I'm making the equivelant of 48-51 cpm on the average.
I have no idea about Florida as I never ran there but if you are outside linehaul, you will be considered longhaul and be out 2-3 weeks at a time.

Is it my understanding that TMC dispatches you for each load, or do you pick your load off a board when you get to your delivery point .

I thought that I once read in a previous post that you choose your loads after you arrive at a customers off quallcom, or whatever, and your responsible for getting yourself headed home for the weekends.

Just wondering if it had changed or if I am mistaken. Thanks

Jeff recently met a driver that was still at 23% this week. Of course he hadn't washed the truck in 3 weeks  and recently hit something with the truck.

Fred do you know if TMC pays layover pay and if they do how much is it?

Jeff is experiencing this for the first time and I was just wondering. His load was canceled and the only load they had in the area was going the opposite direction of home. He already has something lined up for tomorrow.
