Have I made a good choice

When I started looking into truck driving, getting my cdl and companies to work for, CR England was my first choice. That was last October. Almost went there, then Schneider, then Stevens. Decided to not be beholden to any company for cdl training. Now I just got my cdl on my on and am able to pick from a big list of companies that hire students. The 3 fore mentioned co's are not on the list mainly due to things I've read on CAD and other trucker forums. I looked here and else where for companies that no one was warning to stay away from. I am scheduled for orientation next Monday @ May Trucking. I made a choice outa 4 I put on my short list. May, Gordon, TMC, and Arrow. They all seem to be pretty good. I chose May cause they have a terminal here in Phoenix and I won't have to leave town for orientation and there pay and bene's are good and no real complaints found. Still waiting to hear from TMC though. After Thursday my choice will be set in stone. Have I made a good choice? Vans or flatbeds? I feel like flatbeds would be better but not sure I should start out there being a noobie. Any last minute suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

PM me your full name and the name of your recruiter (if you have one) and I'll let you know your TMC status tomorrow.

Of course I think you made a good choice.
![]() But then again I am partial to MTC. Good luck in your decision. Call me anytime. Ryan PS, I saw 2 new Peterbilt 387's at the Phoenix yard this afternoon. They might have been waiting for drivers. Such nice trucks.

If you're young and in shape, you can make more $$ flat or stepbedding when you get out on your own. I've been with Landstar the last 3 years and I see more and better paying loads on the board for flats, steps etc...
I like to back up to the dock and tell the lumper to wake me when you're done! No chains, binders, tarps etc... I'm older and have had 3 knee surgeries |
