If I put your name down as to who refered me to Gordon, will you get a referral bonus? as indirectly from your blog that is how I decided where to go. If they do, do you want me to? I couldn't find out on there website if they did. $$

Kona, I gotta say man.. as a former GTI driver.. I really love your attitude. I would never think of going back OTR, but I find myself reading your blog every time you update it, and thinking about the times I have been in the exact same places as your pics... Hell in one of your pics, you are under the last trailer I pulled for GTI

If you ever lay down in Phoenix, the drinks are on me.

Hey there Kona911! I was just checking out the GTI website and saw they have a Midwest Regional Fleet. Do you have any info on this fleet?

It's based out of Green Bay, WI and basically covers the whole east coast although I have met a few midwest guys running in the west too. The fleet is basically all new trucks with the cold weather package ( better insulation and a plugin for an engine heater). Other than that, it's the same as the west division.

The whole east coast? Their website just talked about Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. East coast is fine as long as no NYC.
Do you have any idea what the home time is like for midwest?
Do they require hazmat?
Thanks,
Steve

On Wednesdays and Fridays at the Gordon office in Fontana, CA they have free food for anyone that shows an interest in the company. If you're still hungry go down the road to Mercer and they have a BBQ going.

From my time with them.. Gordon truly lived up to what they preach about wanting to get you home...

I always looked at it like this... I want to get home as MUCH as possible, but need to make money... If you (my dispatcher) need something run that will keep me out for another few days, fine.. I'll take it, but you remember that when I ask for another day off, or to get home earlier.. And GTI always did.

I was at the yard in Pacific when my wife called with a minor emergency at the house... GTI offered to FLY me home to PHX (not a loan, just flat out pay for it) to take care of the situation.. It wasnt THAT urgent.. but I did end up making it in 2 days after they immediatly gave me a load home. (dont ask.. lol )

They did away with the hazmat requirement before I was even hired... It wouldnt be a bad thing to have... Get your doubles too, then come over to the dark side of LTL.

And Kona, anytime man, let me know when you are going to be in town. Maybe you can show me how to take REAL pictures with my Nikon D50 haha!
