My brother and his girlfriend want to team but will only do it IF they can bring along their 4 teacup chiuauas. That's why I ask.

Who knows - maybe they'll find a company eventually, but it looks like they would have to go as O/O to do that.

One of our drivers just bought an old U.S. express truck with an auto transmission. He's had it for about a 6 months now and swears by it.

I drove an autoshift for a while. I'd never swear by it, but I swore at it. It's incessant and unnecessary shifting in city traffic. Then, in the hills when it would linger in top gear too long, allowing the rig to slow to a crawl, then finally downshift. At that point 9th gear was too high so it'd have to downshift again to 8th, stay in 8th for all of two seconds with the motor screaming, then upshift back to 9th. In the mean time I'm watching the mirrors hoping no one will run into me while this stupid tranny tries to figure out what it's going to do next.

Two people, and four dogs in a truck? That doesn't sound good at all. I had a friend who had two chihuahuas, and those dogs crapped wherever they felt like. I'm not saying all dogs are the same. But four dogs and two people in a truck can't be good.

I drove a auto shift for awhile and I would not swear by them. I will say however I did like it. It handle the hills quite well and I did like it in the traffic.

But like I said earlier I would not go with it straight out of school. Like GMAN said I think it would really limit you if USX and you do not get along. More companies are going auto it still is not a widespread technology with all the companies. I would venture to say that maybe 10% of the companies out there use auto shift the rest are manual.

Put it in manual and shift it yourself with the up or the down button.
