I never said you had to be cream of the crop to get hired on by Swift  That said, they are not the giant evildoer that many drivers think.... but, the one thing I do want to say is that it's easy to talk about a company if you've not worked there - if all you do is repeat what you hear. It's something entirely different to talk to those who spent more than a week in the seat and learned the workings of the company.

By the way, Rokk, that's just a slight variation on the Sexy/Single/Solo (insert your "S" adjective here) Women in Freightliner Trucks one

I have personaly met and have had pleanty of first hand dealings with Swift drivers, I worked for Hunter Wrecker in Charlotte N.C. for over seven years, I have had to go out and pull Swift drivers out of ditches and had to back their trucks out of dead end streets because they didn't know how to get out, I've had more one on one dealings with Swift drivers than any other company out on the roads today.

We just got to a point at the wrecker company I used to work for that when the phone rang and it was Swift on the other end we knew without a doubt someone somewhere had screwed up again..

I'm not going to say all of Swift drivers are screw ups, I won't say that at all, but I will say, Swift has a good share of truck driving school wash outs.

I saw that first hand..

By the way... If you do ever get to Charlotte and have to go pick up a load or an empty at the 33rd street drop yard in Charlotte, be carefull, it is a very screwed up yard, a lot of holes and very tight places.

Just be carefull.

bring on some more of them swift jokes and sayings. i like to keep a listing of new ones i hear just because ...they are funny.
Well one I haven't seen posted yet is one my trainer ( who was gay ) told me:

" Do you know what S.W.I.F.T. backwards is?"

Two
Fags
In
White
Semi

BTW: About the only problem I have had with Swift drivers ( and not JUST with Swift, but it seems like more Swift than all others combined ) is they seem to "hang out" in the center lane with NO other traffic around. I have passed many of them on the right.

Ridgerunner....

Granted, I too see many slower trucks in the center lane of a multilane highway for no apparent reason, but what are you doing passing a truck on the suicide side? That's no better than the driver hanging out in the center lane for no reason.

That one is also old, and I always have to ask, what about the solo drivers? 8)

Well, when I'm going 75 at 3am and the center lane is blocked by a driver doing 65, what would you do?

As far as the solo driver..... I don't know. I was just passing on one from my trainer.

Well... considering my fastest truck only did 70 with a good tailwind...

Unless there was a truck lane restriction, you move to the left

Default slow trucks

Obviously there was a truck lane restriction as there almost always is. And as usual the whole world will pass the idiot on the right side before he has a clue that maybe he should move to the right.

WTG Rokk...We each have our preferences in companies. However...if we are happy, we should stick up for our company! There are good drivers and bad drivers at EVERY company! I have many friends that are Swift Drivers. It may not be the company for me, but if it is for them...more power to them!

I'm sure that I will get alot of flack for this post...but it wouldn't be the first time. If your happy...stay with it. Someone has to haul the freight! No matter where you work!
