Default Euro 2012

God what a game the Sweden-England game was. A REAL cracker in the 2nd half. The Walcott shot was an unreal laser but Welbeck's was out of this world. Welbeck's was more of a hockey style goal, Walcott laid the ball towards the net and Welbeck got the backheel deflection that left the goalie looking silly. In hockey they do the same thing, fire the puck towards the net because a deflection into the net is a very real possibility. I was disappointed in Hart's play. Both goals appeared to be shots that he could have saved but he stood there. The header was just dumb, it passed by him just 2 feet away and he stood there doing nothing. The 2nd, he stood there flat-footed as the shot came in and barely attempted a save try.

Of course Russia has been busy on and off the pitch, winning on the pitch and the fans winning the brawls off the pitch.

Denmark are putting up a fight against Germany and I hope they can sneak a result; if only to stop that smug bastard Ronaldo from progressing with Portugal.
If England make it to the knockout stage then they'll either face Spain or possibly Italy; either way it will be curtains for England

Portugal 2-1 Netherlands. If Denmark score and win, then Germany are OUT!
That would be some shock

So if England lose in the next round, are they out of the next World Cup then? I would think they have a shot against either, remember, we beat Italy in Italy recently. Italy isn't as good as they have been in the past. Got Rooney coming back..........haven't seen Spain play.

I can't believe the Dutch struggled like they did after being the WC runner-up. They are out correct?

Netherlands are out, correct. The WC and Euro championships have no bearing upon one another so if England lose next game they are only out of Euro. Spain are awesome at moment and will take some beating
Having said that, Croatia are holding them to draw tonight...so far

Ok that's weird, ESPN was saying that the first one's out of this round of Euro are out of the next WC. Something about once 16 teams are left those 16 will then play for 8 spots in the next WC as representatives of Europe.

Italy has looked decent at times, Balotelli had a beauty of a goal, a hybrid of a bicycle kick. As much as he annoys me, particularly playing for Man *****ty, he has some skill when he uses it properly instead of being a wanker. He's like an 8 year old in a 21 year old's body a lot of times, very immature but when he acts like an adult he's scary good. Surprised he plays for Italy instead of Ghana, yeah he was born in Italy but he's of Ghana decent.

The Croats played Spain tough. I think the English have a shot against it looks like Spain with their style of play. Typically Spain likes that wide open play whereas the English play a more rugged brand of ball with strong D. The Croats played a strong defensive game and really held their own against Spain. England has more goal scoring talent than Croatia has, should be another cracker.

ESPN is saying England gets the Italia next. Looks like they lucked out on some sorry officiating tonight. First they did not get the offside call against Ukraine but then the 4th official on the goal line missed what appeared to me to be a goal for Ukraine. Had replay been in use it might have been a goal, certainly looked like it was to me.

Most certainly was a goal mate; England were very lucky

The ESPN crew(Ian Darke and Macca) immediately had doubts about it being saved in time by Terry. They were all over the 4th official once they saw the replay. Funny how the game works sometimes, at the WC England got the short end of the stick, a goal was ruled no goal. Replays confirmed it was a goal and England got robbed, fast forward to Euro 2012 and they get aided this time by a wrong goal line call.
