Default NASCAR News

So much has happened over the last week or so in NASCAR land.

Rick Hendrick and his wife are aboard a Jimmie Johnson owned plane with crash lands in FL. Nothing too serious other than some broken bones supposedly. They said the brakes failed, I want to know where Chad was beforehand. Someone forgot to inform the pilot to pump the brakes before hitting the tarmac, the mechanics had collapsed the pucks thinking it was 'Dega qualifying.

Jeremy Mayfield, or as some know him, Meth-field has kicked out of NASCAR after testing positive for Meth after Richmond in 2009. It turned into a long drawn out saga and both saying the other was lying and ended up in court. Jeremy tried following the rules set forth by NASCAR but it didn't work out and his career was basically done. It is now officially over with, Jeremy Mayfield arrested for meth possession - From the Marbles - NASCAR Blog - Yahoo! Sports

And it looks like we may have another champion for the first time in 5 years. JJ is in serious trouble of making it 6 in a row. 43 points back with 3 to go, under the new points system that is a serious hill to climb. It's like being 200 out with 3 races to go under the old system. He would have to win out and hope that none of the other drivers in front of him in the points finishes higher than 14th in any of the last 3 races. They are also heading to 3 tracks that the Roush guys like with Edwards in the lead by 8 points over Stewart.

I haven't kept up with NASCAR lately. Of course, I very seldom see any of the races, due to my work schedule. Who's expected to win this year?
Sounds like it's getting interesting.

Right now Cousin Carl has the golden horseshoe up his rear end after it fell out of JJ's. Struggled mightily at Kansas only to come home at the end with a Top 10. Martinsville was more of the same, struggled all day long but came home with a Top 10. He is pretty good at the final 3 tracks, going to be hard to beat him unless he beats himself. He has not been buying into any of the mind games thus far. Tony Stewart is 8 points back in 2nd but he's been hit and miss during the Chase, 3 wins in 7 races but he's also had a 25th at Dover and 15th at Kansas in back to back races after winning the first 2 Chase races. Edwards worst finish in the Chase, 11th, all others have been Top 10 and Top 5. You got Harvick 3rd 21 out and Bad Brad K 4th 27 out.

Thing with JJ is that he's 6th in points, he needs all 5 drivers in front of him to suddenly suck over the final 3 races, 1 maybe 2 could have that happen but all 5?
