Default Stoops.....no not that one

Well they finally canned Mike Stoops today. I'm surprised it took this long. I would like to see brother Bob find room to make him some kind of "advisor" on the OU staff with the defense. When Mike left I think that is when alot of the "fire" left that I talk about OU missing in games.

Mike is a dern good DC. Apparently, maybe not as good as his brother as in head coach. I can't remember who runs the D at OU now, but I wouldn't be shocked if Mike did end up back at OU. I also heard that Mike Leach's name was in the hat on the new job..

Not surprised they finally pulled the trigger on him, IMO a year late. He may be fiery but it seemed like he struggled to recruit. UA is a tough sell to recruits when you have the California teams in the neighborhood. Why do you want to go out into the desert and play? UA seems like it's stuck in the same rut Kansas is, it will always be a basketball school first.

Brent Venables is the DC here now. Does a great job and is just as fiery as Mike. Maybe he could use a little help. Leach will land somewhere, it's just a matter of whether somebody wants to put up with the antics.

Venables, yeah that's right.

Mr. Ford made a good point and I haven't thought about it.. I'm sure it is hard to recruit in Arizona ( AZ State too).
AZ would probably be a good fit for Leach. I heard that he flew out there to talk to them. Haven't heard the latest.
