I've often talked about Texas not playing ranked teams, unless it's a conference game , but if you look at all the major schools, everyone plays cupcakes.
Yall talking about TCU.. they went to Clemson and won. Went to Virginia and won. Neither of those are top-ranked, but they are big schools. TCU went to BYU and won and BYU beat OU . Could TCU compete if they were moved back into the Big 12 South? I think so. I think TCU is a powerhouse in a weak conference.

I totally agree with that statement. The big boys like to use that statement to belittle schools like TCU and Boise. "Your good in your conference but you could not compete week in and week out in our's." Total BS and they know it. Put them in that conference and see what happens, I bet they are more competitive than first thought. Why is that? Because they will start getting better recruits by virtue of being in a biggie conference. Look at Boise St, moved up to D-1 in 1996, 10 years of building and they made a BCS game in which they beat OU. Better recruits started looking at Boise St and the results started getting better. They are stealing a lot of good players out of Cali currently.

Recruits look at it this way, they can be set on one school but if that school doesn't offer them anything they will usually choose to play for another school within that conference because they can then play that one school who didn't offer them anything and try to show them what they missed. Kid wants to go to Texas badly but no offer shows nor do they even contact him, he does get offer's and visits from A&M and FSU, guess where he is going to probably go, A&M so he can get payback. Put TCU in the Big 12 and they will start getting more 4-5 star recruits, put Boise in the PAC-10 in place of Washington St and they will also start getting more 4-5 star recruits and both will be very competitive in a couple of years.

Last year the UTES beat the Tide in the Sugar Bowl. None of the big schools touch the Boise's and TCU in September. OU did nut up and play a top ranked BYU team in Sept. That pretty much killed the Sooners for '09. http://www.classadrivers.com/forum/s...-ou-didnt.html

Yeah, that's true. I forgot about that. Utah did beat Bama.

Nebraska exposed Texas tonight. I would rather see TCU play the Gumps for the mythical national championship than Texas. Hell, if Texas played in the SEC this year instead of the big 12 they would be 9 and 3 or 8 and 4 at best.

It doesn’t matter whom the Gumps play, Texas or TCU, they are going to win handily. As a matter of fact, Florida could beat either of those two teams as well, as the true national championship game this year, as for as I’m concerned, was the SEC Championship game played earlier today.

Hell, I’d rather watch a rematch of the Gumps and Florida in the national championship game than I care about seeing Texas inevitably getting creamed by the Gumps. Lets face it; the BCS sucks! Please give us a play off!

The national championship game is gonna be more like a massacre. I'm sure it's gonna be a blowout. I will be surprised if Texas beats Bama, but I don't see it. Mark Ingram should have a really good game. :hellno:

Like I said before, anyone who says Bama doesn't have a D don't know a thing about them. They made it look easy against Florida who had the best offense in the country going into that game. Nebraska isn't on the same level as Bama on D, Texas could be in a world of trouble real early seeing as how Nebraska did an excellent job defensively in stopping them.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, Mr. Ford. If Nebraska was able to contain Texas, just imagine what Bama might do. :hellno:

I think UT will win that game. Texas has a stout defense and I'd rather have McCoy as my QB for a winner take all game. Colt just got the scare of his 4 year stay in Austin. The UT coaches will have that film drilled into Colt's head during the 3 week wait. The Tide will not have Suh on their D-line. That guy dominated the UT o-line. Cody is good but he is not Suh.
