Just for the fun of it....I used to put on a nice "Regimental Tie"....or a "Power Tie" and go in. (Yes...I wore a shirt with a collar 8) ) And it never failed to amaze me the response I would get. I'd get called "Sir"..politely, and conducted my business and was gone....often before others.
You are what you look like. Like it or not....thats the perception that others have....and they treat you based on that perception, and there is nothing you can do about it...except.....cause them to raise the perception quotient a hundred or so points by looking sharp and acting professional.
Driving a truck is just as "honorable" as any other profession in the civilian world.....and if you can't look like and be a "professional"..... you are "part of the problem".
