North Dakota, Minnesota suspend rules for truckers providing relief efforts
With the widespread flooding the governors of both North Dakota and Minnesota have temporarily suspended various trucking regulations for truckers providing relief efforts.
North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven waived the hours-of-service requirements for trucks and buses providing relief supplies or transporting people to or from the flooded areas.
Click here to see the full North Dakota waiver.
In Minnesota, Gov. Tim Pawlenty waived hours of service regs, weight restrictions and various required permits for motor carriers hauling relief supplies to flooded areas of the state.

Now....those "declaration's" only cover trucks that are operating in each of those states. For trucks to travel "Interstate" under such a declaration, President Obama will have to make such a "declaration".
