What IS this "magic" 15 minute reg, REV? There's NO SUCH thing! The regs say (paraphrased) that CHANGES OF DUTY STATUS that take less than 15 minutes may be flagged and ENTERED into the comments (along with the TIME spent.) It does NOT say that the time doesn't COUNT as being on duty. And it does NOT say that it is NOT a change of duty. (which is why you can't just FLAG your entry through the cab to get to your sleeper.)
BTW... the answer to repete's "question" would be to spend whatever time on line 4 that would be required to log EACH and every day's page, ALL at one time on the day he returns to work. The company didn't SAY he had to fill out a log EVERY day. They said he had to fill out a separate logsheet FOR every day.

Actually, that's exactly what it says. That short periods of duty status change (less than 15 minutes) do not need to be logged as a duty status change. They simply need to be flagged with the amount of time recorded in the comments section of the log. And since the log book goes by 15 minute increments, such flagging will not be recorded in the total time.

HaHaHa!! You really CAN'T read, can you?? :hellno: Maybe, I'll have time this weekend to explain yet ANOTHER reg to you! :lol2:

I LOVE my lose leaf logs! Make a... Mistake, just rip it out and start over, don't like how it looks, rip it out and start over, only carry the last 7 days, EASY!
When I was with the big evil swift they required you to log every day separately, even though their logs had the consequtive days off box. The lose leafs I use don't even have a consequtive days off box!

I can see how it would be nice and tidy to keep your logbooks equal to the full month, but here's something to consider:
Say you are off for two weeks ending on the 3rd of this month. Since you must carry the previous 7 days logs with you, UNLESS you use loose leaf logs you will need to carry the entire last month's logbook with you. If you get pulled for an inspection, they can (not necessarily WILL) check for mistakes on ANY day during that entire last month. This could cost you money that you had otherwise escaped getting caught on. Personally, if I'd been off that long, I would leave home with ONE logbook that shows that I'd been off for AT LEAST the last 7 days (maybe, even the whole break time.) That way I can leave last month's logbook at home. Just a thought.
