Yea! If you drive right by their OPEN scale house, they will come and get you and make you go back. ops:They're not real happy about it either.

Never had a problem in MS.....been crossing through there for a long time now.... I've stopped and talked to them a time or two...to get information and they were rather helpful. Nice folks...at least the ones I spoke with were.

Pulled into the weigh station in Vicksburg, 10 minutes after the legal sunset with a permit load. Thought I had until 30 after sunset, in Ms it's 30 BEFORE, DOT officer very nicely suggested that I park the trailer at the end of the parking area, dolly down and go visit Vicksburg for supper. Recommended a couple good places to eat and let me know that he would be there all night, no one would be able to mess with my load.

Good to hear nobody has had any trouble with them. I'm thinking of applying with them next time they are hiring. What advice would yall have for a newbie DOT Officer?

Can't remember which scale it was now but, hit it about 2am one morning and I guess I missed the closed sign.
As I pulled onto the scale I notices the scalemaster was standing in the door, propping it open with her foot while she smoked (looked 60ish). I stopped, she stepped farther out and YELLED..."GIT OFFA MAH SCALE....CAN'T EWE SEE AH'M SMOKIN!" yes, ma'am
