You got two problems. (1) Many states don't accept conceal weapons permits. (2) Most companies won't allow firearms in their trucks.

I want to know how this works all so. I know about all the pistol permit laws but is there a separate law as far as a weapon in a commercial vehicle? say if I was just driving in my home state... and beside company rules?

if you follow the link you will see there are only 2 states that do not recognize any permits so if many means 2 I guess you are right

 

Following the link I checked my home state Missouri.

Which leave 17 states that do not honor Missouri CCW Permit.

Now look at Kansas.

Which leave 28 states that do not honor Kansas CCW Permit.

How about Iowa.

Which leave 36 states that do not honor Iowa CCW Permit.


That is just three of the states I checked. I'd say that is a lot more than 2.

aaah - I see the problem..

Many states don't offer recirocity in CCW permits - with SELECT OTHER STATES. *EVERY* state recognizes CCW - whether it be issued by themselves or some other state. You pointed out fine examples of finite reciprocity - but Hawaii WILL recognize the CCW from Missouri. It's a legal document, after all. They just won't honor it.

The way around this is to simply hold CCW from a few different states. Very Very few (7) states will refuse to issue a CCW to a non-resident (sadly, Colorado is one of them.) Cover your hindquarters in this manner, and you are good to go anywhere in the US - with local restrictions like D.C.

Jerry - only two states don't OFFER CCW ( because they ( correctly ) deem it unnecessary.)
