Default Window Tint

So how dark can I go and not get harassed by every DOT cop in the land? I would really like to have tint on my drivers and passenger doors.

I see alot of trucks with it but would like a consensus from my fellow board members about it.

Good question
In Wisconsin a few years back the Wisconsin DOT was giving out tickets to truck drivers because the tint was too dark.
They actually have some kind of machine which shows them how dark it is and if it's legal or not.

I had a Light tint
Black Black tint is a No No

You are looking at different laws for window tinting in every state. What may be legal in Maryland may be illegal in Georgia or Illinois.

I have always put my windows down when I back up. I like to listen as well as look.

I was so hoping there was a nice easy answer to this question, alas I was wrong but that tint guy site will help alot.

Thanks everyone

You put em all the way down even to do a straight back? You can hear just as good cracking the window. I take it you run in warm climate :-)

I do put em down all the way but I am even crazier than that. I always put my Driver window down all the way, save for heavy rain or snow, for the last 10 minutes of my day and listen to my truck run, never know when you might hear something.

I am an odd duck I know...

nope not odd at all. i do exactly the same thing. i ALWAYS roll both windows down when i am backing. i also leave the pass window down at the end of every shift ot listen to what my truck is "saying".

so odd no i dont think so, but i could be wrong, we BOTH could be the odd ones LOL
