Default adding another truck.

so.. after much though leasing someone on to me would be a nightmare. i might be adding another driver to run for me. i was thinking of coming out of my truck but.. its older and i really don't want to deal with someone beating it up. its getting harder and harder to find a pre emissions truck. here is my though. get a DPF truck and eventually delete that. thoughts?

I was talking with a guy the other day who said that he has had better luck with the egr trucks. There are a few companies who will neutralize your DEF truck.

Um, that's illegal! If DOT goes inspecting and finds its not working when it's supposed to or your supposed to have one that isn't there now..........somebody is getting a ticket and or shutdown on the spot. Maybe the best hope is Trump gets in and he gets rid of the EPA and all their recent little laws!

I understand that altering the DEF trucks could result in big fines. You would certainly be taking a risk. But, some think that it is worth it to reduce some of the major issues concerning the new engines. I still prefer the older engines. I am curious as to who might have had newer engines with few problems and whether you think that an egr or def would have fewer issues.

Understand firebird, just didn't want to see you go altering your emission stuff then get in big trouble and come back going WTF guys!!!!!!!! As long as you understand the risk and how DOT does look for that stuff at times. I don't like the neutered trucks either, they do seem to have issues a lot with a computer running the show now!

I don't own trucks with egr or def. If I did, I am not sure that I would alter them. But, there are some who will alter their equipment to avoid some of the issues associated with the newer emissions. I don't know if the dot would check the systems or not. It does seem to be a big risk. Then again, what about the new glider kits? If it is illegal to alter the emissions trucks, then how is it legal to purchase a glider kit that doesn't have any of the new emissions?

It's all about the EPA and what they approve. DOT will enforce EPA rules/laws. I have heard of people getting busted. Just like running around in a personal vehicle with the converter not in place. Regular police can cite you for that. In the wake of the whole Diesel-gate with VW, you have to assume any diesel vehicle is being looked at closer than ever before.

You do realize they have equipment that can tell them that right? You know, an emission detector, aka the sniffer. They got equipment they don't like the public to know about.
