Default new truck search soon... opinions?

well truck#2 search is going to happen soon. my freightliner while its been nothing more then amazing to me will be getting a driver and getting the easy life (ny to fl and out west). i need something a bit.. tougher anyway. i found a short hood 379. 475 ISX, 13 speed and 11R24.5 tires with 3.70 gears. found also the same truck with a signature 600.

my question to you guys.. i don't want to buy a glider right now. way too much money. whats your opinions ACERT vs. ISX? i run about 80k across pa

do you guys think that PACAR products are that much more superior to the rest? i also do a lot of off road stuff as well.

thoughts?

i will not buy an emissions truck and credit is no issue.

i should mention all trucks mentioned above are 07's pre emissions.

i know the banks are cracking down. went though that when my dad got his 07 century a few months ago. thank god i got an amazing finance company. i don't do not want any emissions trucks. i've heard horror stories about people losing almost everything due to the DPF and or DEF. hell i know someone that runs for a company has always had their trucks since new with DEF. EVERY truck in the fleet have had the motor overhauled. maintenance done all the time and everyone under 450k. sorry not for me.

Paccar makes good trucks. I have owned both Peterbilt and Kenworth. But, I would stay away from th ACERT engines. I prefer CAT, but Cummins or Detroit would give you good service. You can get more truck, at least in some respects, when you go with a non Paccar product. International, Volvo and Freightliner have proven themselves as good road tractors. You will pay more for any Paccar truck, but they tend to hold their value more than other brands. I like tall rubber and Paccar is about the only brand around that still has some of their trucks with the tall rubber. Most have gone with the 295/22.5 tires. I would stay away from anything that has DEF.

Regardless of which truck you purchase, the driver you hire will have the greatest impact on the bottom line. Ask me how I know? I thought if one truck was good two must be better. In reality two trucks were half as profitable and twice the work. Three was worse still. Back to one was best decision for myself.

You sure don't want an ISX. Too many cam problems. I don't see any Wal Mart trucks on the website listed above. Just a bunch of loser trucks.
