I appreciate the replies. I see dart ads for $1 a mile and hogan $1.15 in this area.I thought $ 1.48 for a nightly drop and hook (no wait) 600 mi. shuttle run (no deadhead)(home daily) $2200 wk.after fuel (based on 5 mpg. low est.) sounded tempting. Thanks for the replies.

Those Dart and Hogan rates don't include fuel surcharge. Add another $.45-.50/mile to get an apples to apples comparison. It's not bad for an entry-level lease; especially if you're looking for the hometime. You'll make decent money but at the expense of your equipment. In other words, it's a quantity over quality deal. Still, it doesn't require much skin in the game on your part and keeps you home so you can keep an eye out for something better. You usually don't just fall into the good jobs and you have the pay the bills in the meantime.

I agree with what No worries said. It's definitely a bare minimum, yet it's a living. Just don't forget, from that $2,200 at least one third is not yours, it's belongs to the truck.

I don't think its enough.

Paying salary for myself, expenses and fuel, break even is at $1.53/mile. So this wouldn't even pay that.

Who's paying the insurance and how much? What if any deductions do you have from that? IFTA? Plates? Etc.

How about equipment replacement saving?
