Not in MY opinion. Keep that Cascadia at the top of your list!

Its still there Hobo...The dealer calls me daily...they're so desperate for a deal. I have noticed that all the big carrier's run Freightliners...Schneider,Gordon,JB,US...must be a reason.
But I found a 2011 Pete 387 Auto with 297K on it...APU,super singles remaining warranty left to 500K...but its out in Utah.I've waisted money on two trips so far looking at trucks...one to NC and the other to Indiana.

This is a helluva lot harder than buyin a new set of stix...?

Stay away from super-singles! Maybe, just quit wastin' money "looking" and buy something cheap and reliable. Like I said... you can always upgrade after you see how profitable you are.

I don't BUY new "stix." I just learn to improve my game with what I got!

Can't remember if you said you were waiting on a "launch date." If not... you've lost more money "looking" and thinking than you will save on getting the PERFECT truck.

Thanks for the listings Mackman...Since I started this endeavor 5-6 months ago, nobody has said to me " Look at a Mack" ... No offense...In my case when you dont have any knowledge going into a new venture I kinda take a collective oppinion of what everyone says in a bunch of different venues. A lot of blog sites, dealers, brokers, mechanics, drivers etc...

I'll look around tonight for a Mack....any tips or advice on which model/motor etc..?

Launch date is Jan...The money spent looking is the money I saved (4K) that I set aside for trucking school...because I was told I needed it. I could of bought a cheap truck a long time ago but I dont know whats reliable and what isnt.

I know there's no perfect truck...but..I can get close...and besides I have the time. I've already secured a dedicated run that will pay very well, all I need to do is get 6 months under my belt before they can bring me on. I just have to swap out the trailer.

Golf wise...I play with a set of custom made Pings that I finally made the plunge on...I went from a 4...to scratch...Golf I know...Trucking...I'm learning.

Whats the skinny on super singles...?

I'm still buying first round & cart !

that is a nice looking truck. 500 horses and an 18 speed might be a little much for pulling a few campers though.

I would not worry about the brand name. When I look for a truck, I look for value. I would stay away from the name specific engines, such as Volvo, Mercedes, etc., Parts can be expensive and you may need to go to a dealer for service, which will usually be more expensive than other options. I would also stay away from the super singles. When it comes down to it all trucks are basically the same. Most have the same engines and drive trains. The main difference is the interior. Decide what you want to do with the truck and then spec it for the work. It sometimes helps to make a list of what you want and then go from there.
