Looking for a new rgn trailer (50 TON plus).

i need one with the lowest deck height.

Fontaine Magnitude 55H MX is a candidate.. 20inch height they say

Rogers makes a 20in deck height too.

I looked aqt some others but they are all 22-24in deck height. My dad pulled a 50ton RGN rogers for a excavting company. Moving dozers, pavers, backhoes etc. and he loved the trailer. Before that he used a eager beaver. He liked the rogers alot better. Said it was just a better built trailer all the way around. The company he worked for had rogers build the trailer just for them. My old man more or less spec. the thing out for them.

1. IMO, before this question can be answered, you need to decide if a drop side will work for what you want to do.
2. It's a tough question to answer because there are manufacturers that will custom design a trailer to your specs. The lower the deck height, the heavier the trailer generally.

Drop side or a rail/beam trailer> great choices
You can get a mini deck down to under 12".....

the drop side seems right for heavy construction equipment loads but if i am in a jam and cant find a heavy construction load then the rail/beam would be more for me

Heavy construction would be my first choice but i wouldnt want to pass up a asphalt paver load or something like that.

Take a look at the Talbert's we have had two and the have held up great. We have even put 140,000lbs on a 50ton on accident and the trailer had no problem with it. We have moved pavers with it but you need to put some boards down so the screeds on them don't dig into the ground. The Talbert is a little heavy compared to a Trail King or some other brands the Pete Daycab and 50Ton weigh 42,500lbs.

A question for you is your truck going to have a wet line kit? If not get one it's not worth messing with aggravating pony motors all the time.
