Heavy Haulers And Orange Safety Cones at Job Sites
#1
Do any of u Heavy Haulers set up orange safety cones around the outsides of your truck and trailer why loading or unloading heavy equipment at job sites?
I was told by one construction foreman I had to. Which makes sense to me. I was wondering if I should start carrying orange cones.

if you cant see truck and trailer getting loaded or unloaded YOU shouldnt be on the site. over here they want you to have hazard lights going on some sites if it that bad you would think you should have them going on the road.my N.Z.2cents worth

30 years of heavy hauling and was never asked that. I used to have a cone on the truck but just because it made a good funnel

I've used them only when loading in the road but, my personnel opinion is that if you can't see the big as* truck with all the flashing lights you shouldn't be driving.
I do need to say though that I would carry some maybe five or six. They can come in handy sometimes. Like when the rookie driver runs out of fuel in the busiest intersection in town and you need to block off a extra lane for the mechanic.
