Talked to our Fleet Manager about getting a load into US at that time, so that I can pick up my trailer at the Wilson plant in Moberly, MO (north of i-70 between St. Louis and Kansas City). The boss said, "You'll probably have to bobtail!" I thought I'd deliver their load in a dry van trailer, then drop the trailer somewhere and go pick up my step. Distance from Guelph, ON to Moberly, MO and back by the way is 1,666 miles, or around 500 bucks worth of diesel at 7 MPG. Which is still not bad, because the dealer will cut me a check for US$1,500 when I "deliver" the trailer to Guelph. It'll be an interesting trip ![]() The dealer suggested I take a FLATBED trailer from MacKinnon, deliver a FLATBED load into U.S. and then load my stepdeck on TOP of the flatbed and bring it to home. He said the Wilson plant will load the trailer for free and this way I'd be paid at least for 1/2 of the trip.
