Default Extreme truck stops

I watched "Extreme Truck Stops" on The Travel Channel last night (Tuesday night). Man, I couldn't believe that truck stop on I-80 in Iowa. THAT PLACE IS HUGE! Anyone here on CAD been there? And the show also highlighted a chrome shop somewhere (can't remember exactly where) that features all sorts of chrome stuff for a rig and lights too. The manager of the store told of one example where a trucker spent over $30,000 for chrome for his truck. I can't believe that some folks will spend so much cash on chrome and chicken lights for their truck! 8)

   LOL...That "Chrome" was probably the one right there at Iowa80. Iowa80 has smaller versions of it's Chrome shops...at it's smaller TS's...like the Iowa80 behind the Petro in LittleRock(Galloway RD).

I didn't see the show. You must be talking about Little America or the Iowa 80 truck stop. Both are rather large.

That's the Iowa80 T/A in Walcott Iowa. I make it a point to always stop there and will drive longer just to make it there.

It's a T/A but the restaurant is privately owned and run so the food is good!

It's a woman who owns it. She just built a do it yourself dog wash there also next to the truck wash.

My favorite truck stop.

The food is good at the Iowa 80. I really like the decor.

I think the restaurant is the only thing left that the original gas station family owns. The rest was bought out years ago by T.A.

I caught the last 1/2 of that show last night. I believe the chrome shop was somewhere in Texas.

And, honestly, I don't know anyone here that hasn't been to Iowa 80

Ive been to Iowa 80 quite a few times. It is quite large.
As far as T/A owning it...I may be in error, but I do not think T/A "owns" Iowa 80. From what I understand Iowa 80 is ndependently owned. T/A sells its fuel.
Nothing inside that Truckstop resembles a T/A. Except for the fuel and the kiosk.
Maybe others, here have a better history of Iowa 80.
I remember Iowa 80, about 25years ago, and the original building, before all the add ons. Considerably different today vices then.
