Default saving money on the road...faxing

I booked an OD load from JOHN C. STENNIS SPACE CENTER in Bay St. Louis ,MS.The agent had to send me the BOL and I also had to order my permits from COMDATA.The agent wanted me to go to a trucker stop and recieve a 6 page BOL and 4 page entry docs.I said "NADA" go ahead and fax it to me in the truck.I recieved the fax and printed it out and I was on my way. This is free..........
You can recieve and send faxes and the site is k7.net.
I think the page limitation is 10pages or whatever megabytes.I have recieved 10 pages from this site before and I know it is safe. When you create your account you get your own fax # which can also be a VM and a virtual #.I am too cheap and I cannot afford EFAX.There is also another one I use but I will post that later when I find it.

I m just giving back!!!!!!!!!

I use E-Fax, and I'm not very satisfied with it. Sometimes it takes hours to get a confirmation, and even then it's not always accurate.

I use EFax. It only costs about $10/month. It sure beats paying as much as $2-3/page to have something faxed to a truck stop. I have not had any problems with it.

Myfax.com works great for me.
10 bucks a month gives me more pages to send and receive then I really need.

Oops!!! I have MyFax, not EFax. ops: It sometimes takes a few minutes longer to receive a fax than with a standard land line, but for $10/month I can't complain. The copies are always clear. In fact, they are better quality than if I had sent them to a landline.

max email is about 20 bucks a year. Has worked great for the last 3 years I have used them

henboy1, You need a new permit service, comdata is probably the worst you can use. The company you work for has a list, pick a new permit service. You'll remember this advice when you lose a day waiting on a simple permit that they screw up.

Kall8 is cheap and a pretty good service.
www.kall8.com/
Enter this code in the referral box: D56540

I use my toll free number to give to people that are unable to use eMail, and I receive emails of the fax, in .pdf format.

The other free website is faxzero.com but the better one is k7.net.
I think the k7.net has no limit on the amount of pages.

I just don't know why I go through them but I will take your advice. They send all their request through email to the states, and wait for a response rather than a faster way of doing it.
I picked up another OD at an Armory this week in Gate City , VA, which is 12 miles from the TN line.Comdata told me VA permits takes about up to 12hrs and sometimes more.I waited an hr and when I hand't recieved the VA permit I took off and waited at the TN line to print out the rest of my states permits. So you are right, COMDATA is a joke.

I usually use Fleet One for permits that I don't get directly from a state. They have always done a good job for me. If you are a member of OOIDA you can get a discount on their fee.

Whenever someone needs to fax something to me, my first question is always "Can you send it via email?". 9 times out of 10 the answer is yes, since many times they are simply printing the document off their computer to fax it anyway.

Once I have it, I either print it, or sign it in Word or Photoshop (I have a pen tablet specifically for this use) and email it right back to them.
