It's Wi-FI for me.

I bought a wireless N USB range booster for my laptop and I downloaded some software that scans for wireless signals. I've used this setup to locate approx 25 or so "hot spots" in PA and NY that are in my regular lanes.

My friend runs out West. He is mostly in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, Utah and Wyoming.

I have done well using Sprint. It is rare that I can't get on line. However, the price is more than T-Mobile. I pay about $64/month with taxes.
