Just wanted to let everyone know that if you are driving on I-40 near mile marker 159 in TN, there is a overpass there and some knuckleheads are throwing rocks from the overpass. Our truck and 2 other trucks were hit early Friday morning around 12:30 am. My husband was not hurt but the windshield is damaged and has to be replaced. The other trucks windshields were also damaged.
There's a CB shop in the area and the owner called the police and said that this happens all the time. The police will patrol for a while then the rock throwing stops but as soon as the police stop patrolling they start throwing rocks again. Does anyone have any suggestions on pricing or a vendor to call to get the windshield replaced? My husband spoke to Freightliner in ATL and got a price of $300 for each pane. The FLs windshield is two pieces. Thanks

There is a glass shop here by where I live that charges 150.00 for each pane and that includes installation and travel to where the truck is. There might be a small glass shop in Halladay,TN at exit 126 on the north side of the interstate past the truckstop on the left side. Im surprised Gman hasn't chimed in yet being he lives in TN.

Call Save Rite Glass at 800-800-4527. They are reasonable and can arrange for a windshield anywhere in the U.S. I believe the last one they put in for me cost about $155. You can arrange for them to come to you anywhere. I am sorry to hear about the rock throwers. The cops use camera for everything else, they should put some up at that location and catch the perpetrators. Instead of generating tax revenue from speeders, they could catch some real criminals.

Some punk threw a can of Cambpells soup at my windshield this summer and smashed it. the worst part was it was like 2 min from my house after coming in from the west coast.
My cost- $650+

Always an endless supply of punk kids who have nothing better to do with their time.
When they finally kill a driver,..then their lawyer can use the old "They didn't understand that a person could get killed" defense. Glad you guys are OK,..heads up to everyone.

This can be very dangerous to! I have taken accident reports where kids are throwing things off the bridge and they are parlized/dead/hurt really bad or got lucky and survived. It's the reaction sometimes that kills.
Be safe out there guys/ladies
