Default I want to drive a cab

Anyone thought of selling the truck and switching to hacking a cab? I talked to quite a few cab drivers (some of them are former truck drivers), and the general opinion is:

you make less money but:
there's much less headaches - you decide how many hours you wanna drive and when (dispatch is 100% non-forced).
if you use common sense, you can minimize the danger associated with picking up strangers.

my opinion : driving a car is much more comfortable than driving a truck (less noise, vibration, no problems with u-turns, fast to pick up speed, easy to break, don't have to be careful when turning corners ...etc. etc.)

i remember one guy who owned a 1-car limo company in London, UK ... he worked with corporate customers directly and specialized in picking up people at Heathrow Airport. He was quite happy with the income and job ... said sometimes he got so busy he had to call his buddies from other limo companies and outsource.

what do you guys think?

All the good money I'm making seem to be going into this 2004 truck. I got towed twice recently - but both times because of my own stupidity. 1) forgot to drain the water separator before going to bed and the water inside froze - it was 40F and then during the night the temp dropped to 20F. Got stuck on the side of the road. 2) tried to make a u-turn in the town of crossett, ar the other day and got stuck on a corner - the intersection was too tight and there were 5 ft ditches on both sides. The tow truck guy charged me 500 bucks for 30 minutes of work. Plus the cops gave me a ticket for ignoring the NO TRUCKS sign.

What I'm saying is the expenses when you have your own truck can easily eat you alive.
