Cyanide, I clicked on your link in your last post. Just a note. If you see me in a truck stop make sure it's the middle of the day if you knock on my door. I may have a stroke if it's the middle of the night. Just an FYI.
Steve, why in the world would you say such a thing?

I make more money with my own truck leased to a carrier pulling same dry van trailers I pulled as company driver ... but there's always something in my 2004 truck I have to upgrade/repair/fix ... so I end up making same or less than what I made as company driver. Basically, the only difference is:

1. my truck has my name on the side
2. my credit file keeps improving and my credit score should hit 800 pretty soon - getting a mortgage for my dream home will be a piece of cake
3. it's easier to find another job if I've had enough of the present employer
4. when I'm having a really bad day, I can always daydream of hiring a driver to drive my truck and become my own freight broker

Company Driver, Jan. 1st to Oct. 7th
Gross: $39,608.90
Miles: 67,989 (Paid miles... Sorry can't locate what actual odometer miles were)
Avg.: .582/mile
Hours: 887.00 (All non-driving and local hourly pay)
Days Working: 194
Days Off: 86

VERSUS

Independent Contractor, Oct. 8th to Dec. 31st
Gross: $31,803.78
Total fixed and variable expenses: $20,462.93
Taxable Net: $11,340.85
Hub Miles: 27,678 (ALL ODOMETER miles off-duty and on-duty.)

Days Off: 33

Works for me!
hey whats goin on man? i have a couple of questions for you but cannot pm you due to not having enough posts. ive tried twice to transfer to your terminal but been unsucessful due to living in orlando. so thats what the higher ups say. but i have been told that becoming an ic the issue for them is nonexistent. im really struggling with money right now as it is very inconsistent as far as work goes in lakeland. i would like nothing more than to come back to work for superior. now my questions are regarding the steps to becoming an ic. how much did u get your older company truck for that would be the way for me at this point . do you know about availability on them and finally would debbie be interested in me joining your terminal as an ic if possible. id really appreciate the info you can give. thanks
Joel
