Default One persons request to unlock Steve Booths thread

I usually keep current on his thread and actually don’t even remember the incident that caused the lockdown…but then I wasn’t checking in as often with the holidays. It sure seemed level headed at the time it was shut down.

I personally think the SteveBooth Show [and arch-nemesis Rev] is one of the more entertaining threads on this site. It is one of the reasons I check in on it so often. It is my personal belief that whoever took offense should have had the huevos (ladies excepted 8) ) to come back within the context of the thread to state that that he or she was offended and whomever should apologize rather than complaining to the mods. By and large the carping and nitpicking has been low level and is overshadowed by the entertainment value of the thread.

So my vote is to unlock the thread and ask that we all police it ourselves….fair?

By Twilight FLyer:
You know, when I get complaints about personal attacks, I am usually going to weed through things and see what's going on. But coming off of vacation, ya'll are crazy if you think I'm going through 55 pages of garbage and play 'edit & warn'.

Frankly, I'm pretty damn tired of the pissing matches going on between a few of you. Taking minor shots at each other isn't going to be a huge issue, as long as it remains minor and everyone is at least semi-adult about things. But when you start bringing family members into it, you've crossed way over the line.

So, to everyone involved, knock it the hell off or I'll permanently remove the problem(s).

I missed the part where family members were insulted. :? I also vote to unlock it. It is entertaining to see the almighty rev. get his rear handed to him. :lol:

According to the post by Twilight Flyer , he was not going to do anything as of yet ;

Twilight also said minor shots were permissable ,so I ask what happened
because I didnt see any thing on the thread after Twilight gave his warning. :?

Anyway I vote in favor of unlocking it.

I cast my vote to unlock as well.....I actually make it a point to log in and read that thread...I look at a ton of other threads as well but Steve's is my first stop everytime(closely followed by Doghouse now)..anyways..some of the arguemtns are asanine and bothersome sometimes but totaly entertaining to read and I for one did not see a thing that should have made it get locked......pluse Twilight didnt say that it was going to be locked down right away so i think that stinks as well. Bring it back.

By far the only reason I visit here. Sad how often overzealous moderators destroy forums unwittingly.

I can only think of one person that wanted it locked, and that would be the author.

This may be why there is part 2, part 3, etc. I follow the 55 page thread daily, and have never seen another family member mentioned, nor did it get more overheated toward the end. In fact, it was pretty mild, at least for us on the sidelines. But to the man working hard in snow driving, and facing a serious physical exam tomorrow, I can see why he got tired of it.

But if the author requests the lockdown, that should be the end of story.
