What the heck are your temps up there.....must be -0 or more

There is no way I'd do a kero heater in the truck....not just for safty reason but I'd die from the heat!!

Please be careful with that thing.

I don't know about the Webasto,or if you have used one before, but I have the Espar bunk heater and it was the best $1,500 I think I have ever spent I can't imagine any weather where you run that the bunk heater can't keep you warm.BTU or not the thing just flat out throws some serious heat.

Spend the $$$ on a Espar or Webasto heater. Ive seen them advertised for just over $800 (U.S.) uninstalled. Two people that have some mechanical skills can install one in less than 4 hours. No open flame, no dangerous gases in the cab, you wont hear it run and if you run in cold areas alot, it will pay for its self in the first winter in fuel savings alone.

We have Espars in all 3 of our trucks, will easily keep a 70" sleeper and cab more than warm enough ALL NIGHT.

Mike, what model heater do you have? Did you price the coolant models? (webasto) I was curious to see what they ran $ wise? How do you start it and how long does it take to warm the engine? How much $ to install?

I have both the D2(bunk) and the D5(coolant) heaters from Espar, the bunk heater takes 2 minutes to blow hot air,and the coolant heater takes about 2 hours to get the water temp up,it has a 7 day timer on it also.

$3,100 total for both installed.

Big bucks for something with no A/C and no generator. You still have to idle your truck after you kill your batteries too. Running your truck for an hour doesn't even come close to a full charge on 4 batteries either.

you can quit trying to justify your investment with me,I don't think it was worth it,I don't care how many times you post how great it is.

For my operation this was the best choice for me,unlike you I have enough experience in this industry to know what I will need to operate and what isn't wise, now if I could just get Maniac to post the numbers to back up my statements because I don't have them with me.

By the way if the little fan motor drains my batteries I have some serious problems.

That kinda leads to my next question Mike, do you have deep cycle batteries? Do you have anything else in the truck to power, like microwave, computer, coffee maker, etc....

I guess your ok if you sit in the dark, no coffee machine, TV off, DVD player off, Radio off, CB off, Fridge off, no laptop charger, no cell phone charger, no microwave. I can see your point.
