Education is the key and you are preaching to the choir here.
Those are the things you need to be forthright about instead of spreading unrealistic numbers, I try not to get in these whizzing matches, but you set me off!!!! You hurt the industry, by promoting and defending a low rate environment. You are no friend to the O/O. If you are a recruiter, my apologies... It is my understanding that recruiters control this board. If you are a driver, you could get a good raise by selling out and going to work on a company truck. Yet, as the above comments show, this is likely an exercise in futility. BTW, I am doing a round-trip PO dry van move for $2.91 a mile, tomorrow.

2 - The people on this board know who I am. Research my posts and you will see who I am and what I do and possibly how I do it. I know that you are a LEASEE who thinks he is JOE OVERLEASE or JIM JOHNSTON, has to rely on someone else to generate his business then comes here all HIGH AND MIGHTY. 8)

I'm not interested in investing the time in researching you. I would be happy to read about you, in a current post, though. Or, Post a link to your website. I would take a look at that. I still stand by the $1.70 per mile Cost, to run a truck. It has to include enough to take care of you, your equipment, your family, their health care, their dental care and your retirement. BTW, I used to work a lot of hours, every week. I've lost interest in working that much.

Drivers were making more money, 20 years ago, than they were 10 years ago. There is a long term downward spiral in the quality of life in trucking. I suspect the same is true across other industries, as well. That points to a much bigger issue, and is beyond the scope of this discussion. Your divers, out of ignorance, make you money. You contribute to the problem, You are not my friend.
